2. AYY and Fun
Winter day 14.1
Talvipäivä (Winter Day) is here!🏂 On Tuesday 14.1. the new year will be celebrated with a wintery checkpoint rally in the heart of Otaniemi. Put on your overalls and come along to have fun!
The snowy grand start will take place at the Otakaari 1 amphitheatre at 14.30 in Finnish and at 14.50 in English. Checkpoints hosted by guilds, associations and ISOs can be explored in groups of 5–8 fuksis until 17.30. The group can also be formed at the grand start to make new friends! ☃️
The third and final overall patch in the great orienteering series can be bought at the grand start and during the event!❄️ You can get the patch from FTMK for 3€ using MobilePay or cash. The patch works as an entry ticket for the afterparty.
All the saunas in Otaniemi will open at 17:00. It is a challenge to go to all the saunas in one day, so do you think can you do it? No extra points will be awarded for this, but it’s still an experience and something to brag about.
The Talvipäivä afterparty will begin in Servin mökki at 20.30. Previous overall patches in the orienteering series can be purchased there, if you’re still missing those! At 22.30 the winner of the checkpoint rally will be announced🎉
At the afterparty you’ll be entertained by DJ and party band Ylinopeus!

Hauki Cup 2025
Hauki Cup 2025 – Otaniemi’s biggest kyykkä tournament has still a few team places available for brave competitors. Hurry and grab a place for your team in this spectacle!
This year, we’ve also turned the after party up a notch and the atmosphere will touch the roof in a whole new way. The more expensive after party ticket also includes a extensive drinks menu in the form of an open bar, so you won’t go away thirsty!
The tournament will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2024, in Otaniemi. The tournament follows the rules of Academic kyykkä.

Hämäläis-osakunnan Laulajat
Hi you who are interested in singing!
Would you like to sing in good and multidisciplinary company? HOL (Hämäläis-Osakunnan Laulajat) is now looking for new singers! To join the choir you don’t have to be a member of Tavastia Nation, but it is a great way to get introduced to the wonderful multidisciplinary community over university boundaries.
Auditions for new singers are held twice on Tuesdays 14.1. and 21.1. We also have three open rehearsals on the same dates at 18-21 that anyone can join. Auditions and rehearsals take place in Hämäläis-Osakunta (Urho Kekkosen katu 4-6 D, 4th floor).

HOL prepares two to three programs per year in a goal-oriented but relaxed manner. Despite being the oldest academic mixed choir in Finland with a 95-year history, we retain a youthful spirit. We practice on Tuesdays at 18-21 in Kamppi.
In the auditions, you will be singing a song of your own choice, perform a small sight singing task and a few melody replication tasks, and sing Finlandia hymn in a quartet. You can sign up for the auditions by typing your initials on the google sheets page above. Please also contact hol.rekrytointi@gmail.com, so that we can send you the sheet music for Finlandia hymn. The rehearsals will be held in English.
Currently we are looking especially for tenors and bases, but sopranos and altos are also welcome.

Muutos Fest
Tule mukaan Muutokseen!
Muutos fest on uudenlainen, maksuton tapahtuma, joka järjestetään lauantaina 18. tammikuuta 2025 Helsingin Kaapelitehtaalla. Tapahtuma on suunnattu kaikille nuorille aikuisille, jotka ovat kiinnostuneet yhteiskunnallisesta vaikuttamisesta – etenkin heille, jotka eivät ole vielä löytäneet omaa tapaansa vaikuttaa. Meillä voit pitää hauskaa ja samalla löytää oman tapasi toimia ja vaikuttaa yhdessä järjestöjen ja muiden aktiivisten nuorten kanssa. Muutos festissä pääset nauttimaan rennosta hengailusta, inspiroivista paneelikeskusteluista, käytännönläheisistä työpajoista ja livemusiikista. Tapahtuma on maksuton ja avoin kaikille.
Muutos festissä on tilaa jokaiselle, olitpa sitten järjestötoiminnan vasta-alkaja, yhteiskunnallisista kysymyksistä varovasti kiinnostunut tai jo monissa hallituksissa marinoitunut järjestökonkari. Tule siis mukaan, inspiroidu muiden tarinoista ja lähde rakentamaan Muutosta! Tietoa Muutos festistä saa jakaa eteenpäin kaikille, jotka voisivat olla kiinnostuneita tapahtumastamme.
