3. Aalto, studies and work opportunities

Python for scientific computing

This course isn’t designed to teach Python itself, but if you know some Python, you will get a good introduction to the broader Python for science ecosystem and be able to use the right tools for your work and keep your code in good shape. The learning material is already available here:

The course will happen via stream on TwitchTV. If you register you will receive further instructions on how to interact with the instructors, ask questions, and get the best out of this experience. A zoom room is provided for those who need direct one to one help or feel like watching the stream together with coworkers.

Bring your colleagues! You can also register as a team: if you enter something in the “Team name” field when registering, you will get assigned to an exercise breakout room with those people. This is a great way to come with friends or your group and learn together. We encourage more python-experienced team members to convince their colleagues and work together in the hands-on sessions.

If you are coming, there is some software you should install in advance to be prepared (see the course page). There is an install help session on the days before the event via zoom if you need help getting a working python environment installed on your computer. The Zoom link for this will be sent to registered participants.

See you in ~2 weeks!
