The Captain’s Quarter is a mandatory point to get your cap. It’s nothing scary, just about 15 minutes one-on-one basically to talk about how you’re doing. You don’t need to prepare anything but if there’s something specific you’d like to bring up (e.g. feedback, suggestions, or something specific you’re struggling with) it might be helpful to think about that beforehand. You can also bring your point card if you want to get it stamped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rules for that are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n We’ll have a singing sauna in March where you can take the singing test if possible, but you can take it whenever you see me (if I’m not in a rush).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Winter Day – 14.2.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Winter Day is a checkpoint crawl for first-year students. The event will be held on Mon 14th Feb in Otaniemi! So gather a group of 6-10 people, put your overalls on and come to Alvarin aukio for the grand start at 2.30 pm. At the start, checkpoint cards will be distributed and the patch of the event will be sold (in cash). Checkpoints are held by ISOs(tutors) as well as various associations, committees and clubs. Checkpoints are open from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After that, if the situation allows, all the saunas in Otaniemi’s one-time rental premises will open, and they can visit those freely! The sauna tour is open around 5-9 pm. In addition, there will be an afterparty held in Sm\u00f6kki from 8.30 pm on. If we have to change the date will inform about it asap!<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you have questions you can contact the Fuksi Major.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What: Winter Day Academic Downhill Sledding Competition \/ Laskiaisrieha – 1.3.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Laskiaisrieha, a large student event at Ullanlinnanm\u00e4ki in honor of Laskijaistiistai (Easter Tuesday?), is on the first of March. This is also where the Academic Downhill Sledding Competition happens. More detailed instructions will follow later, but most likely too late to start building anything then, so here’s a rough overview: Similarly to Otatarha Race, each of the competing teams builds its own vehicle. In this case, the vehicle has to be human- and gravity-powered (so no motors, but at least you’re going downhill!). It should be usable both with and without snow, since we don’t know how the weather is going to be on the day.
