A!-Games

The superiority of Aalto’s universities is decided in the A!-Games organized by the Aava’s Sports Committee! 🏆

Come and feel the feel of a real sports festival in Alvar Square on Sunday 15 May and encourage your college to win! The games this year are Ultimate, Croquet, Mölkky, Chess, Elephant Ball and Rope Pull! The games will be played from 12:30 to 18:30 and a more detailed match schedule will be released later! There is also plenty of activity for the audience!

Activities:

  • Otaniemi Grill Society will make the grill hot and will not leave anyone hungry! Come and
    start the barbecue season with A!-Games!
  • Otanko will introduce you to pole dancing, bringing your outdoor pole to the test event!
  • At the Aalto University Frisbee Golf Club, you can test the accuracy of your putt after a long winter!
  • With the Slackpoli section, you can test your balance in slackline!

Aalto Cocktail Hanami Picnic

Hanami (花見, “watching flowers”) is one of the Japan’s most important annual folk celebrations. Hanami occurs during the bloom of cherry trees in spring. So come and get a taste of Japanese cocktail flavors inspired by Hanami!
The cocktail picnic is organized on 17th of May at 18:00 outdoors in beautiful Roihuvuori. Price is 15 € and it includes three Hanami-style cocktails prepared by our top cocktail specialists as well as some delicious Hanami snacks! Bring your own picnic blanket if possible!

Super Smash Bros. Tournaments in Otaniemi

For the first time in four years, Otaniemi opens it smoky gates to the rest of the world and shows what a proper Smash tournament looks like. Prepare to take on the very best Smash players of Otaniemi and beyond in both Ultimate Singles & Doubles!

Super Smash Bros

Otaniemi’s very own Smash tournament is here once again! The Otaniemi Smash Championship of spring 2022 will be decided on Sunday 22nd of May at Design Factory in Otaniemi! We welcome all kinds of Smash players to the event, from casual smashers to the most hardcore players. If you don’t have your own controller, you can loan one at the venue. In addition to the tournament brackets, it is also possible to just play casual Smash with friends at the event.

We will be playing the newest Smash game Super Smash Bros Ultimate at the tournament and we’ll have both 1v1 and 2v2 brackets.

Harassment contact person workshop 19 May at 5pm

Have you participated at events during your studies and experienced, seen or been a part of situations where harassment has occurred? You are welcome to join us and brainstorm good practices in harassment intervention!

Harassment contact persons of associations and others are welcome to join the workshop. The goal of the event is to benchmark best practices and gather information for our community’s own guide for harassment contact persons. If you are even a little bit interested in harassment issues, please sign up!

SCI Bachelor’s Thesis and Seminar Survey

Hi! SCI Learning Services is conducting a research on students’ experiences related to the Bachelor’s Thesis and the Seminar course. Based on the feedback received, the seminar course can be developed to better meet the students’ needs. Therefore, we are looking for answers from all SCI students, even if you are just taking or planning to take the seminar course. Start your consulting career at Gavdi!

What role are we looking for?

Gavdi is looking for a graduating student who wants to develop their competences regarding system integrations. You don’t have to worry about being an expert in the field – we will train you in SAP cloud integration technology and ensure that you have the
knowledge needed to work with our customers and support them.

We work with a large variety of clients, and you should expect your workday to be a dynamic set of meetings, development tasks and problem-solving. Your responsibilities will range from the maintenance and development of SAP HR systems to communication and problem-solving with customers.

How do we picture your career to develop?

In 3 months, you:

  • Have started to feel at home and comfortable in the day-to-day activities at the office.
  • Have completed our training and immersed yourself into consulting through customer cases.

In 6 months, you:

  • Are working closely with senior consultants, learning about SAP cloud platform integration methodologies and issue
  • resolution.
  • Assist existing clients with support on their current solutions.
  • Contribute to a positive working environment and proactively seek guidance, clarification, and feedback.

In 12 months, you:

  • Have received your initial certifications, along with some practical hands-on experience.
  • Handle your own customer portfolio with support from your team.
  • Are well on your way to become a self-sufficient consultant.

What kind of person are we looking for?

You’re highly ambitious with a curious mind, which allows you to learn quickly and apart to steep learning curves. You’re a natural
facilitator and know how to translate data and requests in to easy-to-understand solutions.

While you’re detail-oriented, you also know when to take a holistic approach, allowing you to see multiple solutions to different issues. You are analytical, which will help you when working on and solving complex problems.

match for the team and who can thrive in our organization. However, here are a few things that might benefit you when applying:

  • A degree and/or a background in Information Technology or a relevant field.
  • Fluency in Finnish and English – written and spoken.

  • You have a good understanding of people – we work on solving cases for our customers and you will be interacting with their representatives actively.
  • In addition to technological and programming skills, experience in customer service is considered an asset.
