Aether x Data Guild excursion

We have at least 40 people from the international programs of LUT university Lahti campus coming to visit us here at Otaniemi! 

Their guild is called Aether and they are even younger than us😱 so come say hi to these toddlers :DD You can meet them at Takkakabinetti or the Living room on 17.3. starting at 19:00💯🔥There will be parallel small scale sitsis going on at both places😎You should appear at Takkakabinetti and there you will know where you will spend your evening. We recommend eating a proper dinner before arriving. Due to space restrictions a max of 20 DG people can sign up to this event. Note: There is the singing test happening on 18.3. and all fuksis should prioritize that event. If you can make it to both rock on🤘

Did you break your new year’s resolution of getting a gym membership? Is the grey weather not ispiring you to go for a run?

No worries! Aava’s sports committee is here to help and organises again the successful sports appro. We invite you and other aalto students to rediscover the spark for sports in various free trial classes. 🧗‍♀️🏐🚴‍♂️🏀🏋️🥏💃

The trial classes last for about one hour and are organized throughout a two week period. The most eager participants can attend several classes if they wish so.

TEK Finnish Language Café

TEK Finnish Language Café every Monday and Wednesday!

the TEK Finnish Language Café to help you practise your Finnish skills outside of your lessons! The café is a low effort opportunity to speak Finnish with other learners, as well as to just have a break from your courses with coffee and snacks. The location is the Otaniemi TEK office, found in the Harold Harlin Learning Centre (via external A door), so can form a convenient part of your day.

The Finnish Café aims to be very casual, with all skill levels of Finnish welcome, especially including those who are native speakers. Whether you are in your first year in Finland or your twentieth, feel free to stop by, chat, and improve your skills!

EIT Digital Summer School on Digital Platforms for Smart Cities

The EIT Digital summer school held at Aalto University on 14-25 August, 2023 aims to create a better understanding of why platforms are key in shaping economies and societies and how platforms create such societal and business impact. After participating you will be better equipped to become the digital changemaker that will shape both the firms you create or work for during your career. 

The Summer School is open to young professionals as well as Bachelor or Master students, who want to deep-dive in emerging digital technologies and learn how to turn these technologies into business. As the programme has a focus on business innovation and entrepreneurship, there is no need to have specific technical backgrounds or any coding knowledge to join our Summer School.

Win a trip to Lisbon

Unite! university alliance invites students to share a day in their university life through a video. There will be one winner per university, the prize is a trip to the Unite! Student Festival in Lisbon on 29.6.- 1.7.2023. The Unite! Student Festival, hosted at University of Lisbon, will gather students from all nine partner universities. It will combine fun, interculturalism and co-creation activities to boost the engagement of Unite! Students community.

The goal of the video contest is to show the diversity and interculturality of the Unite! student community. This max 3 minute video should highlight student’s personal life and habits, and make other universities’ students interested in the Unite! diversity.

AYY on mukana vaalihumussa kannustamassa opiskelijoita äänestämään!

Vaalit tulee ja AYY on mukana vaalihumussa kannustamassa opiskelijoita äänestämään! Tule tapahtumiin mukaan osallistujaksi tai järjestäjäksi. Kaikkiin tapahtumiin on suotavaa pukea opiskelijahaalarit päälle ja näyttää ehdokkaille, että opiskelijat ovat liikkeellä ja hereillä! Alla järjestettävät tapahtumat päivämäärineen ja kuvauksineen:

  • 22.3. klo 11–12 Jonotustapahtuma Kansalaisinfon edessä: Haalarikansa äänestää. Pääkaupunkiseudun opiskelijajärjestöt lähtevät yhdessä äänestämään ennakkoäänestyksen ensimmäisenä päivänä 22.3. klo 11 alkaen! Miten valmistautua? Mieti ehdokas valmiiksi ja ota henkkarit tai passi mukaan! Halutessasi pue päälle opiskelijahaalarit tai muuta opiskelijahenkistä vaatetusta, mutta mukaan olet tervetullut juuri sellaisena kuin olet. Missä ja miten? Kokoonnutaan Pikkuparlamentin puistossa (Eduskuntatalon lähellä, Arkadiankatu 3) 11–12 ja muodostetaan mahdollisimman pitkä äänestäjäjono ja sen jälkeen suunnataan äänestämään Kansalaisinfoon Pikkuparlamentin yhteyteen. Miksi? Näytetään porukalla, että opiskelijoissa on voimaa ja meitä kiinnostaa vaikuttaa! Paikalla on jaossa muun muassa haalarimerkkejä ja muutenkin hauska tunnelma. Tule mukaan käyttämään ääntäsi ylioppilas- ja opiskelijakuntien kanssa! Muuta: Ennakkoäänestyspaikalla on annettava kaikille vaalirauha.   • 22.3. klo 16.00–17.15 Kevään kouluttavin vaalipaneeli. AYY järjestää vaalipaneelin Smökissä. Paneeli rikkoo tyypillisen paneelin kaavaa, kun panelistit pääsevät suorittamaan esimerkiksi budjettihaasteen ja selviämään Kelan tukiviidakosta. Lue lisää ja ilmoittaudu mukaan täällä
  • 23.3. klo 11.30–13.30 Koulutuspoliittinen krokettimatsi Alvarinaukiolla. Alvarinaukiolle kokoontuu vaalitorin tapaan lounasaikaan joukko ehdokkaita kampanjoimaan ja pelaamaan krokettia. Tapahtuma saattaa yhteen Suomen tulevaisuuden toivot ja eduskuntavaaliehdokkaat. Lue lisää ja ilmoittaudu mukaan täällä
