2. AYY and Aalto

SCI Study Advisors Back in Service!

Hi, we are Anna and Katriina, the new study advisors for SCI students!

Anna is a fourth-year Aalto student, soon a BSc in Mathematics and a new student in the Applied Mathematics Master’s Programme.
Katriina is a first-year student in Service Design and Engineering in the CCIS Master’s Programme, a last summer’s BSc graduate in Aalto CS, and a fifth-year member of Tietokilta.

We study advisors help SCI students with any study-related questions aimed at the school, both remotely and on campus.

Androids clatter on and the coffee-substitute-machine keeps on beeping as Teekkarispeksi 2022 jumps aboard a spaceship and straight into the world of scifi. The in-space research vessel goes through exciting times as the new machine, invented by the world-renowned space researcher Reine Haan, picks up an unexpected signal. Where does the signal originate from and what is it trying to tell us?

Speksi is a full night’s musical theater spectacle with a hint of improvisation.

Teekkaripurjehtijat: Join our Navigation course 1!

Teekkaripurjehtijat (TRIP) is organising Navigation course 1 in English this Spring. Navigation 1 gives you the basic navigation skills and it does not require previous knowledge of navigation. The focus is on navigating the Baltic Sea and lakes. 

What: Navigation 1 course with an authorized teacher
When: Mondays 28.2.-11.4. at 18:00-20:15
Price: 65€ (students) / 79€ (graduated). The course is only for members of Teekkaripurjehtijat ry.

The course will be organized online. 

The registration will be opened on 31.1. and will close on 13.2 at 23:59. The registration and more information can be found here.

All former and current student union members and employees may submit acknowledgement nominations. If you are not sure of the level of acknowledgement that someone deserves, you can still submit your nomination.

AYY annually awards community badges, badges of merit and honour, hero badges, miniature flags and sashes to persons and organisations that have promoted the aspirations of the student union in various ways. In addition, we will reward Aalto Athlete of the Year, Learning Promotion Deed, Sustainable Deed, International Deed and AYY Seal of Approval. The Student Union will award acknowledgements in its annual ball or similar occasion. 3. Other

Remember to pay AYY healthcare fee

All the degree students registered as attending for the spring term have to pay the healthcare fee for students in higher education. The fee must be paid even if you don’t use the FSHS services. The amount is 35,80 euros per term and no separate invoice will be sent. More information can be found here.
